 </a>    ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced Monday that 1,926 students on varsity rosters have earned the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award. The list includes students from all 18 institutions, plus Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame and 41 sports who have recorded a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher for the previous academic year.    The 2025-26 class of Distinguished Scholar Award Recipients includes 350 students who maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA during the previous academic year, represented in bold on the official list.    Big Ten Faculty Representatives established the Distinguished Scholar Award in 2008 to supplement the Academic All-Big Ten program. Distinguished Scholar Award recipients must have earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in the previous academic year, must have been enrolled full time at the institution for the entire previous academic year (two semesters or three quarters) and earned a minimum GPA of 3.70 or better during the previous academic year, excluding any summer grades. The Academic All-Big Ten threshold is a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for a student's academic career.     A complete list of the 2025-26 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award recipients can be found above.    </div>

<div class="payload-richtext">PORTLAND, Ore. - As the sun set over the rolling hills of Cooper Mountain Vineyards on Saturday evening, “Big Life Series: Pacific Northwest” concluded its immersive educational experience where student-athletes from all 18 Big Ten institutions learned firsthand about the rich culture and history of the Pacific Northwest.   Over the course of less than 48 hours, over 175 student-athletes and administrators engaged in programming that included visits to Multnomah Falls, the Oregon Historical Society, the Grande Ronde Reservation, and Cooper Mountain Vineyards. The event brought together participants from all 18 Big Ten institutions, creating opportunities for learning, dialogue, and relationship-building among student-athletes from across the conference.    “Big Life Series: Pacific Northwest was a remarkable experience that allowed attendees to better understand and interact with the history, culture, landscape, and people that give the Pacific Northwest its distinct identity,” said Big Ten Chief Operating Officer Kerry Kenny. “The unique opportunity to connect student-athletes from across the country to an immersive experience outside of their traditional element is what distinguishes the Big Ten in preparing these young men and women for life after campus.”    At the Oregon Historical Society on Saturday morning, student-athletes learned about how Oregon became the state it is today, including the often-untold Black, Native American, and Japanese history that has shaped the state. Participants also toured the Yasui Family exhibit, learning about the challenges Japanese Americans faced during World War II and the advocacy efforts that helped advance civil rights in the decades that followed.    The quote on the back of the Big Life Series: Pacific Northwest T-shirt: “What is done to the least of us can be done to all of us” was from Presidential Medal of Freedom winner Minori Yasui.    “I found his bravery in speaking out about these issues incredible,” said Indiana women’s track & field sprinter Kristina Vincic. “Having a voice isn’t an easy thing and it takes time to build one. That’s something we can definitely tie in to our teams.”     After learning about Native American history at the Oregon Historical Society, participants experienced its living impact firsthand at the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Veterans Powwow. Student-athletes learned about the traditional longhouse, witnessed cultural traditions, and took part in the Grand Entry ceremony.  Often competitors on the field, student-athletes joined together to dance with members of the Grande Ronde Confederation and in honoring Veterans. For many student-athletes, it is the moment they said they will remember most about the trip.    “It was beautiful seeing the tradition unfold right before my eyes and getting involved with it,” said Penn State football student-athlete Armstrong Nnodim. “As athletes we get caught up in the competitive world, so to come here and bond with everyone from different backgrounds was amazing.”   Launched in 2022, the Big Life Series is part of the Big Ten’s commitment to providing educational and developmental opportunities beyond competition. Big Life Series Showcases the Spirit of the Pacific Northwest

<div class="payload-richtext">ROSEMONT, Ill. - As part of the “Big Life Series: Pacific Northwest”, the Big Ten will host over 150 student-athletes, coaches and administrators from all 18 Big Ten schools in Portland, Ore. from Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12. The program is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of the region’s rich history, culture and communities through an immersive educational experience.   Programming will begin Friday evening with a nature walk through Multnomah Falls to showcase the region’s deep ties to nature and the history of the Pacific Northwest landscape.    On Saturday, student-athletes will visit the Oregon Historical Society and have the chance to learn about the Japanese American West Coast experience and hear firsthand from a member of the Oregon Black Pioneers. Through discussions centered on resilience, community, and historical impact, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the individuals and stories that have shaped the Pacific Northwest.    The group will then travel to the Grand Ronde Reservation for a Veterans Powwow, which will provide an opportunity to engage with living cultural traditions and better understand the history, values and contributions of the Native American communities across the region.   The evening will conclude with a dinner at Cooper Mountain Vineyard, where student-athletes will have a hands-on discussion about the agricultural history of the region and the grape-growing operation.   The Big Life series is an immersive educational experience started in 2022 that focuses on engaging, educating, and empowering Big Ten student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. With trips to Selma, Alabama; Mount Vernon, Iowa; and Portland, Oregon attendees learn about the historical and cultural significance of the region. Since its inception, over 500 students-athletes have participated in these programs. <div class="payload-richtext">Photo courtesy of Ohio State Athletics ROSEMONT, Ill. — Another deep run in the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament came to an end for Ohio State on Thursday. Third-ranked Ohio State lost to second-ranked TCU, 4-3, in an NCAA Quarterfinal match contested in Athens, Ga. It was the 18th all-time appearance in the quarterfinals or OSU. The Buckeyes (32-5) surpassed 30 wins for the 14th time under Head Coach Ty Tucker, winning three NCAA matches and extending their streak of Big Ten regular season titles to 19-straight seasons. Ohio State also had a two-week stretch in February where it knocked off five top-five teams, including the nation's top-ranked team three times. Thursday's match brought to a close the 2025-26 Big Ten tennis season, which began in mid-September. </div>

Michigan State, ranked 25th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, received the conference’s automatic berth while No. 3 Ohio State, No. 14 Illinois, No. 19 USC, No. 21 UCLA, No. 34 Wisconsin and No. 39 Michigan earned at-large berths. Ohio State, seeded third overall, and Illinois, seeded 14th, will host first and second matches. Seven Big Ten Teams Qualify for NCAA Men’s Tennis

 </a> OJAI, Calif. – Weather delays and the third-ranked team in the country couldn’t stop No. 25 Michigan State from winning its first Big Ten Men’s Tennis Tournament title in 59 years on Saturday at the 124th Ojai. Top-seeded Michigan State held off second-seeded Ohio State, 4-3, as the Big Ten co-champions battled late into the night at Libbey Park. With the win, MSU earned the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. Michigan State (18-8) was a point away from a clinch when rain halted play for two hours. When action resumed, Ohio State’s Aidan Kim prevailed at No. 1 singles to even the score, 3-3, setting up a dramatic finish on court two. Matthew Forbes pushed MSU over the top by winning a third set tiebreaker, 7-3, as the Spartans hoisted the tournament trophy for the first time since 1967 and for the third time in program history. Forbes was named the tournament’s most outstanding player. MSU started the match by claiming the doubles point. The tone was set early when Forbes and Ozan Baris defeated OSU’s Brandon Carpico and Nikita Filin, 6-2, on center court to hand the nation’s fifth-ranked doubles team just its sixth loss in 41 matches. Baris went 5-0 overall on the week to earn a spot on the all-tournament team. Ohio State (29-4), which was making its 22nd-consecutive appearance in the finals, placed Filin and Kim on the all-tournament team. The Buckeyes brought a 15-match win streak into the match before dropping their second decision to the Spartans this season. The winning team receives the conference’s automatic berth into next week’s NCAA Tournament. No. 1 seed Michigan State (17-8) is looking for its first tournament championship since 1967 and its third overall. No. 2 seed Ohio State (29-3) has captured 17 tournament championships all-time, including 14 of the last 19 since 2006. The Buckeyes are making their 22nd consecutive appearance in the final. Michigan State defeated Ohio State, 4-3, on March 15 in a result that – 1.) ended the Buckeyes’ 49-match conference win streak, 2.) marked OSU’s first conference home loss dating to 2003 and 3.) produced MSU’s first win in the series since 1999. Michigan State and Ohio State shared the Big Ten regular season crown with 12-1 conference records. MSU earned the tournament’s No. 1 seed based on a head-to-head tiebreaker.  Michigan State and Ohio State to Play for Big Ten Tournament Championship

<div class="payload-richtext">ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference revealed its individual award winners, All-Big Ten selections, All-Freshman Team and Sportsmanship Award recipients for men’s tennis on Thursday. The postseason honors were voted on by the conference’s head coaches. Michigan rookie Max Dahlin, a native of Karlstad, Sweden, received the Big Ten Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards while Michigan State’s Harry Jadun was named Big Ten Coach of the Year. Dahlin (pronounced: Mochs Dah-lin) sports a 28-3 singles record and finished undefeated (11-0) in Big Ten competition. A two-time ITA All-American, Dahlin reached the NCAA Singles Quarterfinals in the fall, has won 17-straight matches and is the highest ranked Big Ten player (No. 8) in the ITA singles rankings. Jadun (pronounced: Jade-IN) guided the Spartans to their first Big Ten regular season title since 1967. Michigan State ended Ohio State’s 49-match conference win streak and went 12-1 in conference duals. MSU rebounded from a 1-6 start to the season by winning 14 of 16 matches and moving up to No. 25 in the ITA team rankings. In his fourth season at Michigan State, Jadun is the first Spartan recognized as Coach of the Year since the award’s inception in 1987. Michigan, Michigan State, USC Secure Weekly Tennis Awards

<div class="payload-richtext">ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the 2026 Big Ten Men’s Tennis Tournament bracket on Sunday. Michigan State earned the tournament’s No. 1 seed via a tiebreaker as the Spartans and Ohio State shared the Big Ten Championship with 12-1 conference dual records. Michigan State clinched its first regular season title since 1967 while Ohio State secured its 20th-straight regular season championship. The Big Ten Tournament will take place April 22-25 at Libbey Park in Ojai, Calif. Seedings and pairings are as follows: 2026 BIG TEN MEN’S TENNIS TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND: Match 1 – Wednesday, April 22 | 11 a.m. PT #9 Indiana (10-12) vs. #8 Oregon (14-10) Match 2 – Wednesday, April 22 | 2 p.m. PT #10 Nebraska (11-13) vs. #7 Michigan (13-9) QUARTERFINALS: Match 3 – Thursday, April 23 | 9 a.m. PT Match 1 winner vs. #1 Michigan State (15-8)   Match 4 – Thursday, April 23 | 12 p.m. PT #5 UCLA (16-6) vs. #4 USC (18-6) Match 5 – Thursday, April 23 | 3 p.m. PT Match 2 winner vs. #2 Ohio State (27-3) Match 6 – Thursday, April 23 | 6 p.m. PT #6 Wisconsin (17-6) vs. #3 Illinois (21-6) The Big Ten Tournament semifinals will be played on Friday, April 24, at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. (PT), while the championship match is set for Saturday, April 25, at 5 p.m. (PT). Ohio State (27-3 overall) compiled a 12-1 conference dual record to finish in a first-place tie with Michigan State. The Buckeyes have won 20 consecutive regular season titles, all under Head Coach Ty Tucker, and secured their 23rd Big Ten title overall. OSU will take part in this week’s Big Ten Tournament as the No. 2 seed. </div>
