The letter reinforces the Big Ten Conference’s unwavering commitment to protecting the well-being and safety of student-athletes across all 18 Big Ten campuses, and the integrity of intercollegiate athletics.“The Big Ten Conference is proud to support our student-athletes in calling for the restriction or elimination of individual proposition wagers on college athletics,” said Big Ten Conference Commissioner Tony Petitti. <div class="payload-richtext">ROSEMONT, Ill. –  The Maryland Terrapins have been named as the favorite to win the 2026 Big Ten Men’s Lacrosse regular season title, according to the preseason coaches' poll released on Thursday. Ranked first overall in the <a href="https://www.usalacrosse.com/magazine/college/men/maryland-ranked-no-1-usa-lacrosse-division-i-mens-preseason-top-20">
 USA Lacrosse Preseason Top 20
 </a>, the Terrapins received four first place votes to take the top Conference spot. Last season, Maryland finished as NCAA runners up, marking the second year in a row it has done so.  Penn State was picked second ahead of the defending Big Ten tournament and regular season champions Ohio State, followed by Johns Hopkins, Michigan and Rutgers to round out the poll. The Big Ten also released a Players to Watch List, comprised of three players from each of its six programs, and ten players on the list earned 2025 post-season honors, including last years’ Defensive Player of the Year Will Schaller and Specialist of the Year Caleb Fyock. Hunter Aquino also earned Freshman of the Year honors for Penn State. The NCAA lacrosse season begins on Saturday, Jan. 31 with Big Ten play commencing March 21. The Big Ten Tournament opens with quarterfinal matches on Saturday, April 25 on campus before the remaining schools travel to Piscataway, N.J. for the semifinals on April 30 and the championship on May 2.  Each of the five other Big Ten teams are also ranked in the USA Lacrosse preseason poll: Penn State (No. 9), Ohio State (No. 11), Rutgers (No. 15), Johns Hopkins (No. 17), and Michigan (No. 20).  Big Ten Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll <ol style="text-align: left;" class="list-number"><li

 Big Ten Conference Announces Preseason Men’s Lacrosse Honors 

<div class="payload-richtext">ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Network (BTN) will air 13 Big Ten men’s lacrosse games during the 2026 season, the network recently announced. The schedule will include 10 regular season games, along with the semifinals and championship games of the 2026 Big Ten Men’s Lacrosse Tournament.Television coverage begins Saturday, March 21 when Penn State hosts Maryland in the first weekend of conference action.   Ohio State, Maryland and Rutgers each lead the Conference with four games that will be broadcast and all six Big Ten schools will be featured on BTN this season. Additional games will be streamed on <a href="https://www.bigtenplus.com/en-int/page/home" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">

<div class="payload-richtext">Big Ten Conference Statement on Anticipated SCORE Act Vote: As the House prepares to vote on the SCORE Act, the Big Ten remains steadfast in its support of this landmark legislation.  The SCORE Act enshrines important student-athlete protections into federal law, fortifies the educational mission of college sports, makes it possible for everyone to play by the same rules, and protects the ongoing funding structure for women's and Olympic sports, a Big Ten priority.  Countless stakeholders have come together from a wide range of perspectives, sports, conferences, and institutions to make the SCORE Act a reality and we look forward to its passage in the U.S. House of Representatives.</div>
