Satvik Patel currently serves as senior director, people & culture. In this role, Patel leads all efforts related to organizational development, recruiting, employee engagement, benefits administration, and performance management. He also contributes to diversity and inclusion efforts across the Conference, producing creative content and leading social media campaigns for various diversity initiatives.
Patel previously served as associate director, business & people operations from 2018 to 2022. In this role, he managed various functions across finance, accounting, and human resources. Prior to this role, Patel served as assistant director, accounting from 2014 to 2018. He got his start at the Big Ten as a video services intern.
Additionally, Patel serves as the moderator of the Big Ten Basketball Media Days press conferences. His conversations with coaches and bold sense of fashion have been featured on Big Ten Network, Quad City Times, MLive.com, BuckeyeXtra, Land-Grant Holy Land, and other major publications.
Prior to the Big Ten, Patel served as a graduate assistant for Harvard University men’s basketball. During his time in Cambridge, the Crimson recruited top-100 talent, won back-to-back Ivy League Championships, and earned multiple victories in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
The Edison, N.J., native earned a bachelor’s degree in music technology from New York University, a post-baccalaureate certificate in business from Columbia University, and a master’s degree in management from Harvard University.
