Seven Big Ten Teams Selected for NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Seven Big Ten Conference schools earned berths into the 2026 NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament, announced on Monday.

Michigan was the Big Ten’s automatic qualifier after winning the program’s fourth Big Ten Tournament title in the last five seasons on Sunday, defeating top-seeded Ohio State, 4-2, at the Auer Tennis Complex. The Wolverines received the No. 12 seed and will host the first and second rounds at the Varsity Tennis Center for the 12^th time since 2010 and the fourth straight season. Joining Michigan in Ann Arbor are Florida (16-7), Toledo (13-8) and Illinois State (18-6). The Wolverines will face Illinois State (18-6) in the first round on Saturday, May 2.

Ohio State (23-4) earned the three seed and is set to host the first and second rounds for the sixth year in a row. Ohio State is a top 16 seed for the eighth time in program history, and it is the fourth time, and second straight year the Buckeyes have been seeded among the top four. The Buckeyes will face Youngstown State (13-11) in the opening round. Ohio State will also host Notre Dame (18-9) and Arizona (20-9) in Columbus.

USC (19-6) is the No. 13 seed and will host first and second rounds at Marks Stadium, playing Sacramento State (19-5) in the opening round. Utah (15-9) and California (12-7) join Sacramento State in Los Angeles. The Trojans have advanced to the postseason in each season since 2019.

Maryland (18-7) is making its first tournament appearance since 2011 and will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. to face South Carolina (12-12). Should the Terps advance, they will play the winner of No. 5-seed North Carolina (24-3) and Charleston Southern (11-8). The Terps enter the NCAA Tournament with 18 wins, tying a program record for the most wins in a single season, while Maryland’s eight Big Ten wins are a program record.

UCLA (16-7) will head to Arizona State (19-5) to play San Diego State (21-3) in the first round on Saturday. Denver (16-7) is set to play the host Sun Devils with winners advancing to the second round of tournament play. The Bruins advanced to the Round of 16 in 2025.

Washington (18-4) will make its 20^th NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth consecutive, facing Liberty (16-9) on Saturday. No. 7-seed Virginia (21-5) will serve as the regional host and will play Saint Francis (16-8).

Wisconsin (17-7) advanced to the postseason for the fifth time in the past seven seasons and will begin tournament play in College Station, Texas, against Baylor (13-9) on Saturday, with Texas A&M (22-5) serving as the host to Quinnipiac (18-6).

The super regional round is set for May 8-9 on campus sites, and the final three rounds will be held May 15-18 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.

Michigan Wins 2026 Big Ten Women’s Tennis Tournament Championship

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 18-ranked Michigan women’s tennis team won the 2026 Big Ten Women’s Tennis Tournament Championship presented by Allstate, beating No. 5-ranked Ohio State, 4-2, in the championship match on Sunday afternoon at the Auer Tennis Complex in Columbus, Ohio.

It’s Michigan’s fourth Big Ten Tournament title in the last five seasons and seventh since 2015.

The Wolverines won the doubles point with wins on court two and three after Ohio State took the first match off court at No. 1. Ohio State evened the match at 1-1 with a singles win on court three from Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev, before Michigan won on courts one and two to move ahead 3-1. Ohio State tallied its second point with a court four win from Nao Nishino before Michigan’s Emily Sartz-Lunde clinched the victory on court five.

Michigan’s Lily Jones was named Most Outstanding Player and Piper Charney joined Jones on the All-Tournament Team. Ohio State’s Nishino and Cisse-Ignatiev earned All-Tournament team recognition in addition to UCLA’s Mayu Crossley and Maryland’s Emma Ghirardato.

Michigan will be the Big Ten’s automatic qualifier into this year’s NCAA Tournament with the rest of the tournament field set to be revealed on Monday, April 27 at 4:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com. First and second-round matches will be played May 1-3 at campus sites.

Michigan and Ohio State to Meet in Big Ten Women’s Tennis Tournament Championship

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 5 ranked and top-seeded Ohio State will face No. 18 and third-seed Michigan in the Big Ten Women’s Tennis Tournament Championship match on Sunday at the Auer Tennis Complex in Columbus, Ohio. It’s the sixth consecutive season that the Buckeyes and Wolverines have met in the tournament final.

Ohio State beat No. 19 UCLA, 4-2, on Saturday in the semifinals to advance to the program’s 10^th tournament final. The Buckeye’s beat Illinois, 4-0, in the tournament quarterfinals on Friday. Ohio State looks to defend its Big Ten Tournament title after winning the program’s fourth in 2025 in Ojai, California.

Michigan won four singles matches in straight sets against Maryland on Saturday to advance to Sunday’s final for the 21^st straight season, dating back to 2004-05. The Wolverines beat Wisconsin, 4-1, in Friday’s quarterfinal match. Michigan has won five of the last seven tournaments contested and seven overall.

First serve on Sunday is scheduled for noon ET and will be streamed on B1G+.

Big Ten Reveals 2026 Women’s Tennis Postseason Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Ahead of the 2026 Big Ten Women’s Tennis Tournament presented by Allstate, the conference announced its 2026 women’s tennis all-conference teams and individual honors on Wednesday following a vote among the league’s head coaches

Ohio State’s Teah Chavez was named Player of the Year, while head coach Melissa Schaub was named Coach of the Year. In its inaugural season as an award, the Big Ten revealed two Doubles Teams of the Year, with Buckeye duo Luciana Perry and Flora Johnson and USC’s Lily Fairclough and Krisha Mahendran named co-winners of the newly created award. UCLA’s Mayu Crossley was selected as Freshman of the Year.

Chavez is ranked fifth in the latest ITA singles rankings with a 14-1 record in dual matches, a 6-1 mark in Big Ten play and 20 wins overall. She is the seventh Buckeye to be named Player of the Year and the first since Irina Cantos Siemers in 2023. Chavez was also a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten First Team.

Perry and Johnson are ranked 32nd in the latest ITA doubles rankings and lead Ohio State with a 12-2 mark this spring. The Buckeyes enter this week’s tournament having won the doubles point in their last 10 matches.

Fairclough and Mahendran are ranked 29th in this week’s doubles rankings and posted an 8-4 record in Big Ten play on court one. The pair earned four ranked wins against conference opponents during the regular season.

Crossley was named Freshman of the Week five times during the regular season and led the Bruins with a 17-3 record in dual play. Fifteen of her dual singles wins came in straight sets, and she went 4-1 against nationally ranked opponents, including three top-20 players. She also leads UCLA with 11 doubles wins this spring and earned All-Big Ten First Team honors, along with unanimous All-Freshman Team recognition.

Schaub was named Big Ten Coach of the Year for the fifth time in her career after leading the Buckeyes to a conference championship, their first since 2022. Ohio State finished the regular season with a 21-3 record, including a 12-1 mark in conference play, and will host as the top seed in this week’s tournament. The Buckeyes are ranked fifth in this week’s ITA team rankings, marking their 11th consecutive week in the top five after peaking at No. 2 earlier this season.

In addition to Chavez, Illinois’ McKenna Schaefbauer, Ohio State’s Perry, UCLA’s Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer and Wisconsin’s Maria Sholokhova were unanimous First Team honorees.

Big Ten Network Presents 2026 Spring Championships

The Big Ten Network today announced its 2026 Big Ten Spring Championships schedule, broadcasting the tournaments and championships for men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s outdoor track and field, rowing, softball and baseball. Additionally, coverage of the MPSF beach volleyball and men’s volleyball tournaments will be presented across BTN and B1G+.

Coverage of the spring championships begins with the men’s and women’s tennis championships airing live on B1G+, April 22-26. Coverage of the Big Ten Men’s Tennis Championships from Libbey Park in Ojai, Calif., begins Wednesday, April 22, and concludes with the championship on Saturday, April 25. The Big Ten Women’s Tennis Championships Presented by Allstate kicks off on Thursday, April 23, and wraps up with the championship match on Sunday, April 26.

From April 22-24, B1G+ presents coverage of the MPSF Beach Volleyball Championship Tournament from Huntington Beach, Calif., and the MPSF Men’s Volleyball Championship Tournament from Provo, Utah. The semifinals and championship of the beach volleyball tournament will be televised on BTN on Friday, April 24, at 11 a.m. ET and 1 p.m. ET, anchored by Camryn Irwin and Holly McPeak. The championship match of the men’s volleyball tournament is scheduled to air on BTN on Saturday, April 25, at 9 p.m. ET with coverage from Kevin Barnett and Rich Lambourne.

The quarterfinals of the Big Ten Women’s Lacrosse Tournament Presented by Allstate will stream live on B1G+, Wednesday, April 22. BTN’s coverage of the tournament, hosted by Michigan, includes the semifinals Friday, April 24, at 3 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. ET. The championship game will air live on BTN on Sunday, April 26, at noon ET. Dean Linke and Taylor Cummings will anchor the semifinals and championship game for Big Ten Network.

Coverage of the Big Ten Men’s Lacrosse Tournament begins with the quarterfinals on B1G+, Saturday, April 25. The semifinals of the tournament, hosted by Rutgers, air live on Big Ten Network on Thursday, April 30, at 3 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. ET. The championship game for the men’s tournament is scheduled to air live on BTN at noon ET on Saturday, May 2. Joe Beninati and Mark Dixon are scheduled to be on the call for the semifinals and championship game on BTN, while Mitchell Pehlke will join the duo for the championship to report from the sidelines.

Fans can purchase a 2026 B1G Spring Championships Pass on B1G+ for a one-time payment of $9.99 through Sunday, April 26 to access live streams and on-demand replays from the men’s and women’s tennis championships, the men’s and women’s lacrosse quarterfinals and the MPSF beach and men’s volleyball tournaments.

Championship coverage continues with the Big Ten Women’s Golf Championship Presented by Allstate from the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Calif. For the second consecutive year, three hours of live coverage from the final round will be televised on the Big Ten Network on Sunday, April 26, at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Additionally, for the second year in a row, BTN will air three hours of live coverage from the championship round of the Big Ten Men’s Golf Championship from the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore., on Sunday, May 3, at 5:30 p.m. ET. Rick Pizzo, Erik Ciotti and Emma Carpenter will anchor both golf championships broadcasts on BTN.

BTN’s coverage of the full Big Ten Softball Tournament Presented by Allstate from College Park, Md. begins Wednesday, May 6, at 11 a.m. ET, and concludes with the championship game Saturday, May 9, at 4 p.m. ET. Lisa Byington, Jennie Ritter and Sydney Supple will provide on-air coverage of the championship game.

The Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships from Nebraska will stream live on B1G+ and RunnerSpace+ from Friday, May 15, through Sunday, May 17. Four hours of live coverage from the final day of track events, May 17, will air live on BTN at 1:30 p.m. ET.

The first day of the Big Ten Rowing Championship Presented by Allstate from the Indianapolis Rowing Center will stream on B1G+ on Saturday, May 16. Three hours of coverage from the final day will be televised live on BTN on Sunday, May 17, at 9 a.m. ET, anchored by Dean Linke, Grace Latz, Mandi Kowal, and Caroline Hendershot.

Big Ten Network will broadcast the entire Big Ten Baseball Tournament Presented by IFS.ai from Omaha, Neb., beginning Tuesday, May 19, at 10 a.m. ET, and concluding with the championship game Sunday, May 24, at 3 p.m. ET. Throughout the tournament, Connor Onion and Jack Kizer will be responsible for play-by-play duties, while Scott Pose, Danan Hughes and Jeff Leise will serve as analysts.

2026 Big Ten Women’s Tennis Tournament Bracket Announced

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced the complete bracket for the 2026 Big Ten Women’s Tennis Tournament presented by Allstate, which will take place on April 23-26 at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Ohio State (21-3, 12-1 Big Ten), USC (19-5, 12-1 Big Ten) and Michigan (16-6, 12-1 Big Ten) each clinched a share of the Big Ten Championship, and tiebreaking procedures were used to determine tournament seeding.

The Buckeyes will look to defend their Big Ten Tournament title as the No. 1 seed in this year’s tournament, opening play on Friday against the winner of No. 8 seed Illinois and No. 9 seed Nebraska.

After clinching its first-ever Big Ten Championship, USC earned the No. 2 seed and will face the winner of No. 7 Maryland vs. No. 10 Northwestern in Friday’s third quarterfinal match. The Trojans finished the regular season 10-0 at home and enter the postseason on a seven-match win streak.

Michigan won its fourth straight and 14^th overall Big Ten Championship and will play the winner of No. 6 Wisconsin vs. No. 11 Iowa in Friday’s final quarterfinal match. The Wolverines have won seven Big Ten Tournament titles, including three in a row from 2022-24.

UCLA claimed the No. 4 seed and will receive a bye into the quarterfinals for the second-straight year. The Bruins await the winner of No. 5 Washington and No. 12 Penn State. UCLA finished the regular season 9-4 in Big Ten play (15-6 overall), winning six straight matches to close out the regular season.

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana -- The Big Ten Conference has been named the Division I winner of the 2026 NCAA/MOAA Opportunities and Impact Award, the NCAA and Minority Opportunities Athletic Association — an affiliate of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics — announced Thursday.

The award recognizes and celebrates the initiatives, programs and efforts of athletics departments and conference offices in Divisions I, II and III that embrace environments of belonging and well-being and elevate the student-athlete voice in intercollegiate athletics communities. NCAA and MOAA representatives will present the awards June 7-10 in Las Vegas during the MOAA Symposium.

"We're proud to accept this honor on behalf of our 18 schools, whose support makes these initiatives possible," Big Ten Conference Commissioner Tony Petitti said.

Omar Brown, Big Ten senior vice president for community and impact, added, "This humbling recognition is a direct result of the leadership and alignment we have from Commissioner Petitti, throughout the conference office, and in collaboration with our campuses. Big Ten student-athletes always are aiming for excellence in competition, in the classroom and in their communities. We will continue to build on this foundation to create transformational opportunities for their development and deliver impact to the many locales we call home across the nation throughout the year."

The Big Ten Conference continues to engage, educate and empower its student-athletes, coaches, administrators and its broader community base with programs, initiatives and engagements that make a difference and encourage positive change. For four years, student-athletes from Big Ten schools have traveled to Alabama for an immersive journey that included learning about the Civil Rights Movement, visits to historic sites, community service projects and panel sessions with local leaders. The Big Ten has also added new elements to the transformative experience each year to deepen understanding and inspire civic responsibility.

Additionally, the conference creates leadership opportunities for its student-athletes. It partners with James Russell Lowell Elementary School in Indianapolis, connecting its 18 member schools with classrooms that include mentorship and encouragement via virtual meetings.

Another one of its many initiatives are structured conversations with administrators, coaches, athletes and employees to gather feedback and to inform future strategies. Examples include conducting student-athlete experience exit surveys and hosting standing committees, commissions and leadership councils to discuss progress, share feedback and assess strategic alignment. The conference also hosts numerous inclusive programs such as United as One, the B1G Fellows Program, the Student-Athlete Issues Commission, The Women's Volleyball Mentorship Program and the CBS Sports Ambassador Program & Sports Journalism Initiative. The conference also promotes several awards programs, which includes the Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award to recognize student-athletes who demonstrate leadership, service and volunteerism.

Along with the Big Ten, Saint Michael's College athletics department was recognized in Division II, and Occidental College's athletics department was the Division III honoree.

Discover, Big Ten Present Custom Jackets To Jackie Robinson Award Honorees

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Presenting sponsor Discover will deliver custom letterwinner jackets to all 36 institutional winners of the 2025-26 Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award, the Big Ten announced Wednesday. Each university’s male and female honoree will receive a customized, one-of-one gift featuring unique school elements and visuals.

The first two custom jackets were presented in December at the Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game to 2025 national winners Dillon Fontus, from Maryland football, and Iowa wrestler Nanea Estrella.

Both of last year’s winners, and Sonya Pankey Robinson (Jackie Robinson’s granddaughter), attended the game as guests of Discover, seeing Indiana claim the title at Lucas Oil Stadium on their way to a perfect 16-0 campaign and CFP National Championship. The 2026 national winners will be announced later this spring from the cohort of 36 campus recipients.

In November, the Big Ten Conference announced the 36 student-athletes selected as institutional winners of the 2025-26 Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award presented by Discover. Jackie Robinson was a standout student-athlete at UCLA, where he was the school’s first four-sport letter winner, excelling in football, basketball, track and field, and baseball. Beyond his athletic prowess, he continues to be recognized and honored for his contributions off the field: integrating Major League Baseball and his lifelong commitment to social justice. He is the embodiment of the Big Ten's mission to develop strong student leaders, and this program honors his legacy and core values of courage, determination, teamwork, persistence, integrity, citizenship, justice, commitment, and excellence. As Jackie famously said, “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”

“It is our privilege and great honor to bestow this award in Jackie’s name upon these deserving Big Ten student-athletes and to express our appreciation for the support of the Jackie Robinson Foundation,” said Big Ten Conference Commissioner Tony Petitti.

Honorees were selected based on the following criteria:

Demonstrated Impact: Significant and tangible contributions to community projects or causes, including measurable outcomes or positive changes resulting from their involvement.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with others, including peers, organizations, and community members, to achieve common goals and enhance community impact.
Consistency and Commitment: Ongoing and consistent participation in community service activities over an extended period of time.
Visibility and Advocacy: Efforts to raise awareness and advocate for important groups or causes, leveraging their platform to promote positive change and engage others.

"The Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award celebrates Jackie’s legacy of excellence in community service,” said Sonya Pankey Robinson, Jackie’s first grandchild as well as Director and board member of the Jackie Robinson Foundation. "We are proud to recognize 36 outstanding men and women for the incredible impact they make in their community."

"Our student-athletes make significant contributions through competition, academics, and community impact,” said Big Ten Senior Vice President, Community & Impact, Omar Brown. “This award allows the Big Ten to recognize these efforts in improving communities, just as we do with their other athletic and academic achievements. Jackie Robinson embodies this award and our goal to honor student-athletes who positively affect others."

The Big Ten Conference’s commitment to athletics, academics and service goes back to the conference’s founding. Coupling the academic goals set forth by leaders of the charter members of the conference with their steadfast commitment to athletics, the conference instituted the Big Ten Medal of Honor in 1915, the first award to demonstrate support for the educational emphasis placed on intercollegiate athletics. It is awarded annually by each member institution to one male and one female student of the graduating class who has attained the greatest proficiency in scholarship and athletics.

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Big Ten universities’ leading role in educating students and driving economic prosperity is featured the latest edition in the “We Are Here” series of :30 ads .

The new ad began airing during Big Ten basketball games and other winter sports in January. Students and alumni take center stage, sharing with viewers what their lives look like and what they have been able to accomplish thanks to their Big Ten university education. Seen on campuses and in communities nationwide, their experiences are living proof of the world-class educational opportunities they received, from learning alongside Nobel Prize–winning faculty to participating in internships and undergraduate research. The spot also highlights the universities’ broader impact through innovation, job creation and service.

Together, the 18 members of the Big Ten Conference are educating more than 810,000 students, preparing them for successful lives and careers. The Big Ten’s collective graduation rate is more than 20 points above the national average and the universities have more than 9.2 million living alumni.

The first ad in the “We Are Here” series began airing last fall and has generated more than 250 million impressions across Big Ten broadcasts to date, including during the College Football Playoff National Championship won by Indiana University. It focused on how Big Ten universities make America healthier, safer and more prosperous through everything from discovering new medical treatments to developing healthier foods to driving economic growth.

The ad will air on linear and digital platforms during sporting events featuring Big Ten universities, utilizing airtime allocated to the Conference as part of its media agreements, including the Big Ten Network (BTN). This new initiative builds on other Conference efforts, including research vignettes highlighting the impact of university research that air during select BTN sporting event broadcasts.

As with the first ad, the second spot was developed by a creative team made up of staff from Big Ten member universities under the auspices of the Big Ten Academic Alliance. It is the second in a planned series of three ads, which over the course of the series will feature footage from all 18 universities.

Big Ten Conference Student-Athlete Issues Commission Calls for Limitations or Ban of Individual Prop Betting on College Athletics

ROSEMONT, Ill. — [February, 10, 2026] — The Big Ten Conference Student-Athlete Issues Commission (SAIC) today sent a letter to NCAA President Charlie Baker urging the NCAA to continue pushing for limitations or the outright elimination of proposition (“prop”) betting involving individual student-athletes competing in college athletics. The letter reinforces the Big Ten Conference’s unwavering commitment to protecting the well-being and safety of student-athletes across all 18 Big Ten campuses, and the integrity of intercollegiate athletics.

“The Big Ten Conference is proud to support our student-athletes in calling for the restriction or elimination of individual proposition wagers on college athletics,” said Big Ten Conference Commissioner Tony Petitti. "The Big Ten Conference appreciates the NCAA’s effort to eliminate these wagers and will continue to assist student-athletes as they deal with the challenges that result from proposition bets in college sports.”

President Baker recently sent letters to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and to State Gambling Commissions calling for amended state laws and regulations to better-protect student-athletes.

The letter from the Big Ten Conference SAIC outlines the growing concerns around the rise of individual performance prop wagering in college sports, including:

Increased harassment student-athletes experience because of wagers on individual-performance proposition wagers
Negative impact individual-performance proposition betting has on student-athletes’ mental health
Accusations of impropriety, even when unfounded, damage the student-athlete experience
Potentially jeopardizing the integrity of athletic competition

“While we understand that sports betting is becoming increasingly more common across the country and allows for states to generate increased tax revenue, prop betting represents unique risks at the college level,” the Big Ten Conference Student-Athlete Issues Commission wrote. “We believe protecting student-athletes must be a priority. Limiting or eliminating prop betting on college athletics would be a meaningful step toward reducing harassment, protecting mental well-being, and preserving the integrity of college competition.”

The Big Ten Conference SAIC was founded in 1994. SAIC members take an active role in monthly meetings discussing the issues most important to Big Ten Conference student-athletes and highlighting ongoing initiatives on their respective campuses. SAIC executive leadership members also represent Big Ten student-athletes in front of the Conference’s Joint Group council and represent the Big Ten Conference on the NCAA’s Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where they review NCAA activities, proposed legislation and offer feedback on behalf of the Big Ten’s student-athletes. Student-athletes are nominated by their institution and appointed by the Conference’s Joint Group Executive Committee to serve on the commission for one academic year.

Ten Big Ten Women’s Tennis Teams Set to Participate at ITA Kickoff Weekend

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Ten teams from the Big Ten have been invited to the ITA Kickoff Weekend at various campus sites on Jan. 23-26, an event which serves as a qualifier for the ITA National Team Indoor Championship. A total of 56 teams will compete for 14 berths into the national team indoors.

No. 7 Michigan and No. 12 Ohio State will serve as host sites, while No. 18 UCLA, No. 20 USC and No. 22 Washington travel to regional sites. Iowa, Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin will also travel to regional locations.

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference has announced its 2026 Women’s Tennis Players to Watch list, as selected by the conference head coaches.

Among those featured are five All-Big Ten First Team honorees from the previous season, including unanimous selection Teah Chavez from Ohio State. Also included are Illinois’ Ariel Madatali and Michigan State’s Amara Brahmbhatt, who were both named to the 2025 All-Freshman Team.

Also on the list is USC’s Jana Hossam, who advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA singles championship and reached the round of 16 in doubles competition in the fall.

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference has qualified 20 players for the upcoming 2025 Division I Women’s Tennis NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, to be held on Nov. 18-23 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. The University of Central Florida and USTA will serve as hosts.

Brackets for the 64-player singles and 32-team doubles tournaments will be revealed on Saturday, Nov. 15.

In singles, the Big Ten will have 12 players represented from five schools. Six doubles teams from four different schools will represent the conference at the upcoming championships, highlighted by top-seeded Maria Sholokhova and Lucie Urbanova from Wisconsin.

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Ten Big Ten women’s tennis players have earned spots in the upcoming NCAA Individual Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., on Nov. 18-23. The ITA Sectional Championships will be held on Nov. 6-9 at various campus sites, with last chance opportunities for additional players to qualify for the Individual Championships. The Big Ten and Allstate Unveil New Partnership to Elevate Women’s Sports

CHICAGO, Ill. – Allstate, the Big Ten Conference and Big Ten Network (BTN) today announced the creation of the Allstate Big Ten Women’s Championship Series, a new competition designed to spotlight and celebrate excellence in women’s athletics across the conference. The championship series is part of a first-of-its kind, multi-year partnership that establishes Allstate as the Official Insurance Partner of the Big Ten Conference and reflects Allstate’s 20-year legacy of supporting college athletics.

With the partnership:

The Allstate Big Ten Women’s Championship Series will be created. This year-long competition among Big Ten schools is designed to highlight excellence across women’s athletics, with schools earning points based on their teams’ performance in regular and postseason play. At the end of the academic year, the school with the highest point total will be recognized as the overall champion.
Allstate becomes the title sponsor of the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, taking place March 4-8 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Allstate will present all 12 Big Ten Women’s Olympic Sports championships and tournaments, including soccer, gymnastics and softball.
Allstate will sponsor On The Pitch , BTN’s new series spotlighting women’s soccer stories across the conference.

Big Ten Conference Recognizes 111th Medal of Honor Class

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference is celebrating its 111th class of recipients who earned the Big Ten Medal of Honor from their respective institutions during the 2024-25 academic year. Established in 1915, the Big Ten Medal of Honor is the conference’s most prestigious award. It was the first award in intercollegiate athletics to demonstrate support for the educational emphasis placed on athletics.

The Big Ten Medal of Honor is awarded to one male and one female student-athlete from the graduating class of each member institution who has demonstrated excellence on and off the field throughout their collegiate career. This year’s class comprised student-athletes from 15 sports.

Big Ten schools currently feature more than 11,000 student-athletes, but only 36 earn the award on an annual basis. Since the Big Ten Medal of Honor was first presented more than a century ago, just over 1,680 student-athletes have earned this unique distinction. Those names are on permanent display at the Big Ten Office in Rosemont.
