Laura Anderson

Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Laura Anderson is the chief financial officer and treasurer for Big Ten Conference. Anderson oversees the financial management of the conference including budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and compliance, analysis of capital projects, and future strategic planning for the financial health of the conference and its member institutions. She serves as an advisor to both the Big Ten Council of Presidents and Chancellors (COP/C) and Big Ten Conference Commissioner Kevin Warren.

Prior to joining Big Ten Conference in July 2018, Anderson led the operational activities of ESI Consultants in Naperville, Ill., as senior financial advisor. She worked directly with the company’s president and shareholders on strategy, finance, and overall operations of the organization. Anderson spent the first several years of her career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen, working in the company’s audit practice advising clients, including multi-national, publicly traded companies.

Anderson is a dedicated volunteer to several non-profit organizations including Hesed House homeless shelter, DuPage Children’s Museum, Morton Arboretum, and several roles with Naperville School District 203. She previously served as president of the board of directors of Junior League of Chicago, a non-profit dedicated to empowering at-risk families, especially those causes impacting women and girls.

Anderson earned a bachelor's degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
