Sam Arvaneh

Assistant Director, Officiating Technology

Sam Arvaneh has served as assistant director, officiating technology for the Big Ten Conference since May 2019. Among other responsibilities, Arvaneh directly oversees men's and women's basketball video technology and operations. Additionally, he assists with football and ice hockey video technology, Olympic sport replay operations, post-game video analysis, and statistical data tracking and trends across multiple sports. 

Arvaneh first joined the Big Ten Conference in 2017 as the Gilbert Marchman video services intern. Following this, he spent one year as an associate video production analyst for Boston College’s football program, where he was responsible for all in-house creative media, coaching film production and distribution, and IT management for the Eagles.

A native of Severn, Md., Arvaneh earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science from the University of Maryland in 2015. During his time as a student at Maryland, Arvaneh served as a video coordinator assistant with the Terrapins football team from 2012-15, a marketing member of the Fillmore Silver Spring, and a member of the Terps Lacrosse Club.
