Wisconsin and Iowa Earn Cross Country Weekly Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Wisconsin redshirt-freshman Christian De Vaal secured both Big Ten Weekly Honors for men’s cross country, while Wisconsin senior Lindsay Cunningham and Iowa freshman Elena Torres claimed recognition for women’s cross country.

• Won the Big Ten Preview in his Badger debut after crossing the 8K course in 23:42.4
• Led Wisconsin to the team title with a score of 24 points

Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week

• Claimed the Big Ten Preview title in the 6K race in her Wisconsin debut with a time of 19:54.4
• Her winning time was more than 17 seconds faster than the runner-up
• Helped Wisconsin to a second-place team finish with 63 points
