169 Individuals from Big Ten Qualify for NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

All Big Ten track & field schools to be represented in Eugene

Rosemont, ILL. – After the conclusion of the East and West Regionals, the Big Ten will be well-represented at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field. 169 total student-athletes from Big Ten institutions will be competing from June 11-14.  

On the men’s side, 84 total Big Ten student athletes will be competing. Minnesota, Ohio State and USC lead the Big Ten with 10 individuals traveling to Hayward. USC also has multiple qualifiers competing in different events. Trojans’ Max Thomas dominated in the West Regionals and will have a chance at four event titles in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay.  

On the women’s side, 85 individuals will be competing with Oregon with 12 student athletes competing. UCLA also had 11 qualifiers, and Iowa was third best with 10. USC’s Jassani Carter will also have a chance at four individual titles, as she is set to compete in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay. 

Many events will also be Big Ten dominated. In the women’s pole vault, seven from the Big Ten will vie for the title, including NCAA all-time No. 1 and No. 7 marks Amanda and Hana Moll from Washington. 2024 NCAA Outdoor Champion and all-time No. 5 Chloe Timberg from Rutgers will look to defend her title as well.  

In the men’s 100m, six qualified from the Big Ten, including five from USC alone. The other competitor, Iowa’s Kalen Walker, won the Big Ten Outdoor title in May. On the women’s side, six from the Big Ten will also be competing in the 100m, including four from USC and two from Ohio State. 

USC and Oregon will each look to complete the season sweep after winning the 2025 Men's and Women's NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, respectively. The first event kicks off at 12:00 pm PT with the Men’s Decathlon 100m on Wednesday, June 11 and will conclude with the Women’s 4x400m relay at 8:21 pm PT on Saturday, June 14.
