Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa and Purdue Take Home Weekly Indoor Track Honors

Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Oliver Desmeules, Penn State
So. – Quebec City, Quebec – Ecole secondaire de Donnacona – Major: Economics
  • Won the 800 meters with a time of 1:48.47 at the Penn State National Open on Friday, Jan. 27th
  • Ranked first in the Big Ten and ninth nationally for the event
  • Helped PSU win the distance medley relay with a time of 9:35.51
  • Ranked first in the Big Ten and fourth nationally for the event
  • Earns his second Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week this season
  • Last Penn State Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Oliver Desmeules (Dec. 14, 2022)

Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Shea Ruhly, Wisconsin
R-Jr. – Middleton, Wis. – Middleton – Major: Psychology and Biology
  • Won the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:16.62 at the IU Relays on Friday, Jan. 27th
  • Ranked first in the Big Ten for the event
  • Earns her first career Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
  • Last Wisconsin Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Distance Medley Relay (Feb. 26, 2020)
Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Peyton Haack, Iowa
Jr. – Westfield, Ind. – Westfield – Masters: Finance
  • Won the heptathlon with 6,007 points at the Razorback Invitational on Friday, Jan. 27th
  • Broke Iowa’s heptathlon school record
  • Ranks first in the Big Ten and third nationally for the event
  • Set personal best in four of the seven sections of the heptathlon
  • Earns his first career Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Bryanna Craig, Purdue
Fr. – Millville, NJ – Senior High School – Major: Pre-Communication
  • Won the pentathlon in her collegiate debut scoring 3,968 points at the Lenny Lyles Invitational on Friday, Jan. 27th
  • Won the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.02
  • Personal-best long jump mark of 5.53 meters
  • Runner-up in the high jump with a clearance of 1.71 meters
  • Ranks fifth in school history for the event
  • Ranked first in the Big Ten and 17th nationally for the event
  • Earns her first career Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
