2022 Men's Basketball Tournament Ancillary Events
Inspiring Sports Panel Series: Inclusive Leadership
Thursday, March 10, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Indiana Sports Corp is partnering with RISE to lead an in-person workshop and critical conversation focused on inclusive leadership. The program will empower attendees to foster inclusive cultures and address matters of racism and inequity. Attendees will be introduced to the concept of inclusive leadership, its importance and how this skill can be both modeled and fostered. They will also engage in discussion and exercises to develop those skills and perspectives and receive an inclusive leadership toolkit.
Prostate Cancer Awareness – Mike Slive Foundation
The Big Ten Conference will work with Mike Slive Foundation to promote Prostate Cancer Awareness during Saturday’s Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament Semifinal session. The Big Ten Conference will also recognize doctors and nurses along with those individuals affected by prostate cancer. The Mike Slive Foundation will also be placing informational signage around the arena.
Wayne Duke Postgrad Scholarship • Saturday, March 12 • Halftime Recognition
The Wayne Duke Postgrad Scholarship Award is an annual scholarship recognizing one male and one female Big Ten senior student-athlete pursuing a postgraduate degree for achievements in academics, athletics, civic service, and leadership. Each Big Ten institution may nominate one male and one female student-athlete. For 2022, each award is $10,000. The Conference will invite the scholarship award winners to Indianapolis to attend the semifinal games and be recognized during halftime.
Boys Basketball Clinic • Sunday, March 13, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The Big Ten Conference and Indiana Sports Corp will host a free boys’ basketball clinic on Championship Sunday for 75 students in grades 4-6. The clinic will take place at the Irsay Family YMCA and participants will receive a clinic t-shirt.
DAV Recognition • Sunday, March 13th
The Big Ten Conference will invite local members of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and their guests to attend Sunday's Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament championship game. At halftime, the group will be recognized and honored on court for their service and sacrifice.
