Oregon Sweeps Cross Country Weekly Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Oregon senior Elliott Cook and redshirt-freshman Tayson Echohawk secured Big Ten Weekly Honors for men’s cross country, while senior Maddy Elmore and freshman Ali Ince claimed recognition for women’s cross country.

Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Elliott Cook, Oregon
Sr. – Powell, Ohio – Dublin Jerome – Major: General Social Science

• Finished 11th overall at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in his season debut
• Was the first Oregon runner across the finish line with an 8K time of 23:21.3
• Helped the Ducks to a second-place team finish

Men’s Cross Country Freshman of the Week
Tayson Echohawk, Oregon
R-Fr. – Provo, Utah – Orem – Major: Pre-Business Administration   

• Was first among freshmen competing at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, earning 14th place
• Crossed the finish line in a time of 23:28.4 and was second in the Ducks’ lineup

Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Maddy Elmore, Oregon
Sr. – Eugene, Ore. – South Eugene – Major: Journalism (Advertising)

• Ran a 6K time of 19:40.2 in her season debut to claim the individual title at the Bill Dellinger Invitational
• Was nearly 10 seconds ahead of the field on her way to the first collegiate win in her cross country career
• Paced the Ducks to a second-place finish
• Performance earned her USTFCCCA Division I Women’s National Athlete of the Week laurels

Ali Ince, Oregon
Fr. – Bloomington, Ill. – Normal – Major: Journalism (Advertising)

• Came in 14th overall, the highest placing freshman at the Bill Dellinger Invitational
• Navigated the course in 20:28.8 and was fourth in the team lineup
