“They went out to be themselves,” said six-time Big Ten Coach of the Year, Emily Fletcher. “They went out to compete as hard as they could and that was going to be enough. Stanford is an incredible program and I have so much respect for them. I’m so grateful. I think the belief and the way our players kept on fighting. They hung in and it paid off in the end.”
Northwestern is the fifth Big Ten school to win an NCAAA women's golf title, joining Washington (2016), USC (2013, '08, '03), UCLA (2011, '04, '91) and Purdue (2010).
