Purdue, Oregon, Michigan State Bestowed Baseball Weekly Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its baseball weekly awards for games played March 23-29, 2026.

Player of the Week
Brandon Rogers, Purdue
Sr. – CF – Chicago, Ill. – Arizona (NCAA)

• Excelled with his bat and glove in helping Purdue to a 4-1 record and a conference series win at Michigan State
• Mashed two grand slams, producing a Big Ten-best 13 RBI and 19 total bases
• Made 15 putouts in center field, which included a diving play in the eighth inning Friday to take away a hit and crashing into the wall on Saturday to rob a potential double
• Hit safely in all five games and extended his on-base streak to 20 consecutive games
• Last Boilermaker named Player of the Week: Aaron Manias (March 10, 2025)

Pitcher of the Week
Miles Gosztola, Oregon
Jr. – S-LHP – Seattle, Wash. – Gonzaga (NCAA)

• Took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of Oregon’s 6-0 win over UC San Diego on March 24
• Lone hit occurred with two outs in the seventh; finished his outing with the next batter
• Retired the first 15 batters, allowed two runners on base, and held UCSD to a 0.48 batting average
• Threw first-pitch strikes to 17 of the 22 batters faced and finished with eight strikeouts
• Last Duck to be chosen Pitcher of the Week: Grayson Grinsell (May 19, 2025)

Freshman of the Week
CJ Deckinga, Michigan State
Fr. – 3B – Minooka, Ill. – Minooka HS

• Slashed .500/.563/1.000 to go with a 1.563 OPS
• Connected on a grand slam and a three-run homer versus Purdue on Saturday
• Became first Spartan to record seven RBI in a game since Bailey Peterson on May 23, 2021
• Had multiple-hit efforts in three of four games, finishing 7-for-14 at the plate
• Last Spartan selected as Freshman of the Week: Ryan McKay (May 6, 2024)
