Maryland Clinches Share of Big Ten Baseball Championship

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Maryland lived up to the preseason hype and captured its second-straight Big Ten Championship on Friday, becoming the first school since Indiana in 2013 and 2014 to accomplish that feat. The 20th-ranked Terrapins (36-19, 16-7 Big Ten) will attempt to win the title outright when they close the regular season tomorrow at Penn State.

The top pick in the coaches' preseason poll, Maryland has also earned the No. 1 seed for the Big Ten Tournament, which begins May 23 in Omaha, Neb.
