Nebraska kept its postseason alive while Indiana and Illinois sustained losses against the top-two teams in the country on the second day of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

STILLWATER, Okla. — Gabe Swansen homered twice to power Nebraska to a 7-5 victory over Niagara in an elimination game at the Stillwater Regional. The win was the 40th of the season for the Cornhuskers.

Case Sanderson drove in four runs, including a three-run homer, and pitcher Mason McConnaughey struck out 10 batters over six innings to improve to 9-3 on the season.

Nebraska will meet Florida at 2 p.m. Sunday in an elimination game on ESPN+.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Illinois suffered its first loss at the Lexington Regional with a 6-1 setback to second-ranked Kentucky on its home turf.

Ryan Nicholson connected on a two-run homer in the second inning and the Wildcats (42-14) never trailed after that, adding two insurance runs in the ninth. Brody Harding accounted for two of the Illini's six hits, driving in their lone run in the fourth.

Illinois (35-20) will face Indiana State in an elimination game at Noon Sunday on ESPN+.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Top-ranked Tennessee scored nine runs in the first three innings and didn't look back in posting a 12-6 win over Indiana at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. It was Indiana's first loss at the Knoxville Regional.

Devin Taylor compiled three RBI for the Hoosiers and reliever Ty Rybarczyk allowed one hit over 3.1 innings, fanning four Volunteers. Tennessee (52-11) improved to 37-3 at home this season.

Indiana will encounter Southern Mississippi at 12 p.m. tomorrow in an elimination contest on ESPN+.
