OMAHA, Neb. — The championship game is set for the Big Ten Baseball Tournament Presented by IFS.ai after three games were played on Semifinal Saturday.
In a split doubleheader, No. 2 seed Nebraska won twice against No. 3 seed Indiana to earn a spot in the tournament final.
In the first game of the day, Nebraska forced a second semifinal game against Indiana with a 4-2 win. Pitcher Will Walsh went the distance for Nebraska while Josh Caron homered twice, hitting bombs of 433 and 432 feet.
In game two, Nebraska prevailed, 10-4, becoming the first team since Minnesota in 2009 to lose its first game of the tournament and make it to the final. Caron tied a tournament record with his fifth home run, one of three the Cornhuskers hit in the game.
Saturday's action also saw Penn State qualify for the final after defeating Michigan, 7-6, in 10 innings.
The Nittany Lions are the lone undefeated team (3-0) in the tournament and the first eighth seed to make the championship game since Iowa in 2016.
Adam Cecere hit a two-run homer in the top 10th that proved to be the difference.
Tomorrow's championship game between Nebraska and Penn State will be played at 10 a.m. and broadcast on BTN.
