Indiana Advances after Overcoming 20-Point Deficit to Down Nebraska in Game One
Hoosiers advance to second round of 2026 Allstate Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament
At the 2026 Allstate Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament , No. 13 seed Indiana pulled off a stunning 72-69 victory over No. 12 Nebraska, overcoming a 20-point deficit in an unforgettable first-round showdown. The Huskers dominated early, with Amiah Hargrove and Britt Prince leading Nebraska to a 45-28 halftime advantage. But the Hoosiers came alive in the second half, sparked by Shay Ciezki’s scoring and Lenée Beaumont’s clutch shooting. A 10-0 third-quarter run brought Indiana back within striking distance, setting the stage for a dramatic fourth quarter. Beaumont’s threes gave Indiana its first lead at 68-67, and freshman Nevaeh Caffey iced the game with pressure-packed free throws in the final seconds.
Nebraska’s early dominance, including 26 points in the paint in the first half, wasn’t enough to hold off Indiana’s relentless rally. The Hoosiers advance in thrilling fashion, proving no lead is safe when they’re on the court. They now face No. 5 seed Ohio State in the second round tomorrow around 2:30 p.m. ET on BTN.
