Purdue Advances to Tournament Semifinals

Boilers' balanced offense plows full steam ahead past Nebraska

No. 7 seed Purdue seized control and never looked back, cruising to a wire-to-wire, 74-58 victory over No. 2 seed Nebraska to advance to the semifinals of the TIAA Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament.

The Boilermakers built their early advantage by controlling the paint and capitalizing on eight Husker turnovers, converting those mistakes into 17 pivotal points. Fletcher Loyer paced their balanced offensive attack with 19 points, while C.J. Cox and Oscar Cluff each chipped in 12 apiece. Braden Smith finished with 10 assists.

Nebraska battled hard to close the gap, leaning on strong efforts from Rienk Mast and Pryce Sandfort to keep pace. The Huskers even sparked an 8-1 scoring run in the second half, slicing the deficit to just ten points. But Purdue had an immediate answer, unleashing a decisive 12-2 run, riding free throws and a +8 rebounding advantage to the quarterfinal victory.
