A: Each season the Big Ten Conference divides its home games between its television partners, ensuring games are televised to a national audience. Television agreements for games that are contested at away or neutral sites are determined by the host school or organization.Q. Which Olympic sporting events (e.g. field hockey, soccer, wrestling, etc.) air on the network? A: In the fall, Big Ten Network airs wrestling, women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, field hockey, and men's and women's cross country. In the winter, Big Ten Network airs ice hockey, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's indoor track and field, and men's and women's gymnastics. In the spring, Big Ten Network airs baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, men’s and women’s golf, men's and women's outdoor track and field, and rowing. The conference and its television partners determine which events will be televised. Consideration is given to appealing matchups while striving to achieve a balance between sports and universities represented. Big Ten Network does include a number of wildcard dates in the schedule to allow some matchup flexibility.Q: Does Big Ten Network televise multiple football games when there are overlapping games? A: Big Ten Network uses Extra Football Game Channels to televise Big Ten Network football games occurring at the same time. These Extra Football Game Channels are only available on Saturdays during the football season. Big Ten Network has offered all of its TV providers the opportunity to make these Extra Football Game Channels available to their subscribers. Satellite providers such as DIRECTV and DISH and telco providers, including AT&T U-Verse and Verizon FiOS, make every Big Ten Network football broadcast available on either the primary Big Ten Network channel or Extra Football Game Channels. <div class="payload-richtext">The BTN EXPERIENCE is a seminar, hosted by Big Ten Network, designed for former Big Ten student-athletes who are interested in pursuing sports media opportunities in the areas of studio analyst, game commentator and/or social media personality. Big Ten Network executives, producers and talent will lead the experience and provide individualized feedback. Participants will receive a video reel of their work upon completion of the seminar.
