  • The Big Ten combined to go 17-1 in Week 1 contests. Penn State and UCLA scored road victories, while USC scored in the final minutes to top LSU in Las Vegas.
  • Sixteen teams will be in action this week, including Michigan State and Maryland, who will meet in College Park, Md. in the season’s first Big Ten contest. The complete Week 2 schedule is to the right.
  • The Big Ten announced its first Big Ten Football Players of the Week, presented by IFS.ai on Monday. USC’s Miller Moss was named Offensive Player of the Week after completing 27 of his 36 attempts for 378 yards and a touchdown in the Trojan’s 27-20 win over LSU.

Texas won the only previous meeting, a 38-37 affair on a last-second field goal in the 91st Rose Bowl Game on Jan. 1, 2006.
  • Saturday night’s thrilling USC win over LSU was ABC’s most streamed college football game on record and ranked among the top 10 regular season games on ESPN platforms over the last five seasons. More than 9.2 viewers saw the Trojans drive 75 yards in the final two minutes to score the game-winning touchdown. USC’s Miller Moss connected with Kyron Hudson five times for 83 yards, while Woody Marks collected 68 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns, including the game’s final score with eight seconds to play.
  • Purdue’s Hudson Card tied an FBS record for completion percentage in Saturday’s 49-0 win over Indiana State. The senior quarterback completed 24 of 25 passes (96%) for 273 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in the victory.
  • Maryland posted its largest margin of victory in a season-opening win against an FBS opponent since 1978 and allowed its fewest points against an FBS opponent in a season-opener since 2001 in Saturday’s 50-7 win over UConn. Quarterback Billy Edwards led the Terps to scoring drives on five of their first six possessions, finishing the day 20-of-27 for 311 yards and two touchdowns. Tai Felton set career bests with seven catches and 178 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
