McCaffery scores 21 points to lead Iowa past Clemson
Iowa snapped Clemson's three-game win streak on Friday evening, handing it a 74-71 loss at Raider Arena. The Hawkeyes went into halftime with a 34-27 lead and were able to hold off the Tigers for the final 20 minutes.
Patrick McCaffery led the way for Iowa, putting up a game-high 21 points. As a team, the Hawkeyes shot 38% from the field, 21% from behind the arc, and 80% from the free throw line. They were particularly effective at the rim, converting on 12-of-17 close range field goal attempts.
Offense was not the issue for the Tigers. They shot 41% from the field, scoring a healthy 1.01 points per possession. Chase Hunter led the way, putting up 21 points and six assists. Hunter Tyson also contributed, adding another 13 points.
