Michigan Secures Share of 2026 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Title

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Michigan Wolverines claimed at least a share of the 2025-26 Big Ten men’s basketball title with tonight’s 77-67 win over Minnesota inside the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. This marks the 16th Big Ten title for the Wolverines and first since 2021.

With tonight’s victory, the No. 3-ranked Wolverines improved to 16-1 in conference play with three games remaining in the regular season. Michigan has also secured a triple-bye in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament and will open play with a quarterfinal round game on Friday. 

The 2026 TIAA Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will take place March 10-15 at Chicago’s United Center, home of the NBA Chicago Bulls, and will mark the first tournament featuring all 18 Big Ten teams. The winner of the tournament will receive the Big Ten’s automatic qualification to the NCAA Tournament. 

Peacock will broadcast the first two games of the tournament on Tuesday and the first two games in Wednesday’s second round, while Big Ten Network will air the final two games on Wednesday, along with four games on Thursday and Friday. For the 29th consecutive year, CBS will broadcast the Big Ten Tournament semifinals and championship game on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
