Purdue, Indiana Score Men’s Basketball Weekly Accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week presented by Air National Guard for the week of Feb. 19-25, 2024.

Player of the Week

Zach Edey, Purdue

C – Sr. – 7-4 – Toronto, Canada – IMG Academy (Fla.) – Major: Organizational Leadership and Supervision

• Averaged 30 points on 80.8 percent shooting from the field and 11 rebounds as No. 2/3 Purdue claimed a pair of wins last week

• Shot 7-8 from the field and 11-11 from the free throw line for 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 27 minutes of a 96-68 win over Rutgers

• Scored 35 points on 14-18 shooting from the floor and grabbed 15 rebounds, including eight on the offensive glass, in an 84-76 win at Michigan

• Garners his 11th career Player of the Week award and sixth of the season

• Last Purdue Player of the Week: Zach Edey (Feb. 5, 2024)

Freshman of the Week

Mackenzie Mgbako, Indiana

F – 6-8 – Gladstone, N.J. – Roselle Catholic – Major: Sport Marketing and Management

• Averaged 14.5 points and 4.5 rebounds, as Indiana suffered a pair of losses

• Scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds in an 85-70 loss to Nebraska

• Added seven points and three assists as the Hoosiers fell at Penn State 83-74

• Earns his second Freshman of the Week award
