Purdue and Wisconsin Net Men’s Basketball Weekly Accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week presented by Air National Guard for the week of Dec. 4-10.

Player of the Week

Zach Edey, Purdue

C – Sr. – 7-4 – Toronto, Canada – IMG Academy (Fla.) – Major: Organizational Leadership and Supervision

•    Averaged 30.0 points on .700 (21-30) shooting from the floor and .900 (18-20) from the free throw line with 9.5 rebounds per game as Purdue went 2-0 

•    Tallied 25 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks in just 24 minutes of a win over Iowa

•    Posted 35 points, including 11-11 from the free throw line, and seven boards as the Boilermakers rallied for a win over Alabama  

•    Garners his eighth career Player of the Week award and second of the season

•    Last Purdue Player of the Week: Zach Edey (Nov. 27, 2023)

Freshman of the Week

John Blackwell, Wisconsin

G – 6-4 – Bloomfield Hills, Mich. – Brother Rice – Major: Undeclared

•    Averaged 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting .500 from the field and 4-7 from three-point range, as the Badgers split a pair of games

•    Went 6-6 from the free throw line en route to 10 points in a win at Michigan State

•    Led the Badgers with 17 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench at No. 1 Arizona

•    Earns his second Freshman of the Week award
