Purdue, Wisconsin Score Men’s Basketball Weekly Accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week presented by Air National Guard for the week of March 4-10, 2024.

Player of the Week

Zach Edey, Purdue

C – Sr. – 7-4 – Toronto, Canada – IMG Academy (Fla.) – Major: Organizational Leadership and Supervision

• Averaged 26.5 points, 11 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 blocks as No. 3 Purdue scored wins over then-No. 12 Illinois and Wisconsin

• Scored 28 points with eight rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in a 77-71 win at Illinois

• Closed the regular season with a 25-point, 14-rebound performance in a 78-70 victory over the Badgers

• Garners his 12th career Player of the Week award and seventh of the season

• Last Purdue Player of the Week: Zach Edey (Feb. 26, 2024)

Freshman of the Week

John Blackwell, Wisconsin

G – 6-4 – Bloomfield Hills, Mich. – Brother Rice – Major: Undeclared

• Averaged 17.5 points on 62.5 percent shooting with six rebounds as the Badgers split a pair of contests

• Paired 17 points and eight rebounds off the bench in a 78-66 win over Rutgers

• Matched a career-high with 18 points, a team-high, in the loss at No. 3 Purdue

• Earns his fourth Freshman of the Week award
