Purdue and Wisconsin Score Men’s Basketball Weekly Accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week presented by Air National Guard for the week of Jan. 15-21.

Player of the Week

Zach Edey, Purdue

C – Sr. – 7-4 – Toronto, Canada – IMG Academy (Fla.) – Major: Organizational Leadership and Supervision

• Averaged 31.5 points on 55.3 percent shooting, 16.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocked shots, as No. 2 Purdue scored a pair of wins

• Tallied 33 points and 14 rebounds in the Boilermakers’ 87-66 victory at Indiana

• Notched 30 points and 18 boards, as Purdue topped Iowa 84-70

• Garners his ninth career Player of the Week award and third of the season

Freshman of the Week

John Blackwell, Wisconsin

G – 6-4 – Bloomfield Hills, Mich. – Brother Rice – Major: Undeclared

• Averaged 13.0 points and 3.0 rebounds, as No. 13/10 Wisconsin split a pair of games

• Scored 14 points, including 7-8 from the free throw line, in an 87-83 loss at Penn State

• Added 12 points and four rebounds as the Badgers scored a 91-79 win over Indiana

• Earns his second Freshman of the Week award
