Rutgers Claims Men’s Golfer of the Week Honor

ROSEMONT, Ill. –Rutgers’ Lucas Politano has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week for tournaments from September 11-18.

· Finished runner-up with a record-setting 198 (-18), just one stroke behind Notre Dame’s Calen Sanderson (-19) at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational
· Posted rounds of 66, 69 and closed with a blistering eight-under 63 in Tuesday’s final round
· Tallied 22 birdies across the three rounds, including 10 in the finale
· His 198 total set the course record at Oviinbyrd Golf Club (Foot’s Bay, Ontario) and established a new Rutgers program record
· Last Rutgers Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Week honoree: Jeffrey Zatorski (Sept. 11, 2025)
