Minnesota and Nebraska Share Men’s Golfer of the Week Honor

Gophers’ Wu and Huskers’ Sautron share award after individual titles at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Minnesota's Chun-Ta Wu and Nebraska's Rudy Sautron have been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week for tournaments from March 5-12. 

 

Co-Golfers of the Week 
Chun-Ta Wu, Minnesota 
So. – New South Wales, Australia 

  • Tied for first place at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island in St. Simons Island, Ga. 
  • His 54-hole score of 198 is a new career-best and the lowest score for a Golden Gopher since 1994-95 
  • Collected 23 birdies on the event and picked up his fourth eagle of the season on the 14th hole in the first round  
  • Tied his career record with an 8-under par opening round (-64) 
  • Last Minnesota Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Week: Last: Ben Warlan (Apr. 17, 2024) 

 
Rudy Sautron, Nebraska 
Jr. – Reunion Island, France 

  • Shared first place at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island in St. Simons Island, Ga. with a school-record (–18) and a 54-hole score of 198 
  • Sautron earns his third individual title this year 
  • Broke his own school record with an 8-under par opening round (-64) 
  • Sautron’s third Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Week honors this season. Last: Feb. 19, 2026
