Michigan and Purdue Share Men’s Golfer of the Week Award
Wolverines’ Arone and Boilermakers’ Forrester claim honor after individual titles
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Michigan’s RJ Arone and Purdue’s Jenson Forrester have been named the Big Ten Co-Golfers of the Week for tournaments from Aug. 29-Sept. 10.

RJ Arone, Michigan
Junior – Las Vegas, Nevada – Bishop Gorman High School – Undeclared
- Earned his first collegiate medalist honor, leading the Wolverines to a dominant 25-shot victory at the Island Resort Intercollegiate
- Posted a career-low 54-hole total of 202 (-14), tying for the fourth-lowest 54-hole score in Michigan program history
- Carded rounds of 66, 67 and 69 at Sage Run Golf Club, recording 16 birdies and just two bogeys over 54 holes
- His final-round 69 (-3) helped Michigan close at 823 (-41), the second-lowest 54-hole team total in program history.

Jenson Forrester, Purdue
Senior – Wolverhampton, England – Cheslyn Hay Academy – Economics
- Tied for first in the New York Harbor Cup with a 12-under par 201 (69-64-68)
- Recorded the second-most birdies in the field with 17 birdies
- His score of 201 is tied for 3rd-best score in Purdue history and 2nd-round 64 is tied for 5th-best 18-hole score in Purdue history.
- Forrester was the last Purdue golfer to Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Week on March 27, 2025
