Oregon’s Krafft, Nebraska’s Sautron Named Big Ten Men’s Golfers of the Week
Ducks’ junior and Cornhuskers’ sophomore earn wins in season-opening events
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Oregon Ducks’ junior Aiden Krafft and Nebraska sophomore Rudy Sautron have been named the Big Ten Golfers of the Week, the first recognition of the 2024-25 season which teed off this month.
Golfers of the Week
Aiden Krafft, Oregon
Junior – Albuquerque, N.M. – Cibola High School
- Birdied two of his final four holes to earn his first collegiate title at the Sahalee Players Championship at Washington’s Sahalee Country Club.
- Posted a 4-under 212 (71-70-71) to win the event by one stroke.
- Tied for the tournament lead in Par-5 scoring average (4.33, -8), and ranked second in the field with 12 birdies.
- Is the first Oregon student-athlete to ever win a Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor.
Rudy Sautron, Nebraska
Sophomore – Reunion Island, France – Cameron University
- In the best debut by a Nebraska men's golfer in history, captured medalist honors with a 5-under 208 (69-70-69) at the Gopher Invitational hosted at Windsong Farm in Independence, Minn.
- Made his first appearance for the Cornhuskers after transferring from NCAA Division II Cameron University in Oklahoma.
- Helped lead Nebraska to a Top-3 finish, their best team result since April 2021.
