Big Ten Announces Men's Golf Preseason Honorees

Twenty-five preseason honorees were named Academic All-Big Ten last season

2023-24 Big Ten Men’s Golfers to Watch List

 

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced its Men’s Golf Preseason Honorees on Tuesday in advance of the 2023-24 season, as selected by the conference coaches. The lists feature 41 men’s golfers, including 25 students who earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2022-23.

The men’s golf preseason honorees feature nine standouts who garnered All-Big Ten recognition last spring: Illinois’ Jackson Buchanan and Piercen Hunt, Indiana’s Drew Salyers, Iowa’s Mac McClear, Michigan State’s Drew Hackett, Minnesota’s Ben Warian, Northwestern’s James Imai and Daniel Svärd, and Ohio State’s Maxwell Moldovan. Wildcats’ Svärd also claimed Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors last season.

Twenty-five men’s golfers claiming preseason honors were also Academic All-Big Ten recipients last spring: Illinois’ Jerry Ji, Buchanan and Hunt, Indiana’s Noah Gillard, Iowa’s Callum Macfie, Michigan’s Will Anderson, Yuqi Liu and Hunter Thomson, Michigan State’s Ashton McCulloch and August Meekhof, Minnesota’s Warian, Nebraska’s Will Marshall, Northwestern’s Cameron Adam and Imai, Ohio State’s Adam Wallin and Moldovan, Penn State’s James Allen, Jake Griffin and Patrick Sheehan, Purdue’s Nick Dentino, Rutgers’ Weston Jones, Xavier Marcoux and Luke Wells, and Wisconsin’s Cameron Huss and Coalter Smith.

The 2023-24 Big Ten men’s golf season begins Sept. 3, when Michigan travels to the Island Resort Invitational and Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin compete at the Marquette Intercollegiate.
