UCLA Men’s Golf Wins First Big Ten Championship

Bruins take home the team title in inaugural conference season

LUTHERVILLE, Md. – The University of California Los Angeles men’s golf team won its first Big Ten Conference title after posting a three-round score of 842 (+2) at the 2025 Big Ten Men's Golf Championships, which took place at Baltimore Country Club. The Bruins also earned the conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.

UCLA was followed by Illinois (843), Michigan State (854), Oregon (855) and Ohio State in fifth with a team score of 857.

Bruins’ Omar Morales captured medalist honors with a three-round total of 203 (-7). Oregon’s Greyson Leach was second at four-under par 206, while Illinois’ Jake Birdwell and Maryland's Yang Kuang tied for third place with three-under par 207. Maryland’s Emil Riegger and Michigan State’s Lorenzo Pinili each carded a 209 (-1) to share fifth place. All six players earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Championships Team.

UCLA’s Pablo Ereño was recognized with the Big Ten’s Les Bolstad Award, given to the conference player with the lowest stroke average (69.78) during the 2024-25 season. Ereno is the first Bruin to win the award.

The selection show for the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship will air on Golf Channel on Wednesday, April 30 at 1 p.m. ET. Regionals will take place at six sites from May 12-14 and the national championships will be held May 23-28 in Carlsbad, Calif. at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
