Michigan and Penn State Capture Big Ten Men’s Gymnastics Weekly Honors

Gymnast of the Week
Matt Cormier, Penn State 
Jr. – Milton, Mass. – Milton – Major: Kinesiology 
• Finished in the top four in five events during Penn State’s meet at conference foe Illinois on Feb. 4
• Won the high bar title (13.900) and was the lone all-around competitor in the meet (81.700)
• Also placed second on the floor (14.050) and vault (14.600), as well as fourth on the rings (13.750)
•?Earns his third career Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award, all this season
• Last Penn State Gymnast of the Week: Matt Cormier (Jan. 17, 2023) 
 
Freshman of the Week
Landen Blixt, Michigan 
Fowlerville, Mich. – Fowlerville – Major: Civil Engineering 
• Placed in the top six in three events to help Michigan to a conference win at No. 4 Nebraska on Feb. 4
• Took third on the floor (14.300) and fifth on the pommel horse (12.850)
• Also tied for sixth on the vault with a score of 14.250
• Captures his second Big Ten Freshman of the Week award 
• Last Michigan Freshman of the Week: Fred Richard (Jan. 23, 2022)
