Michigan Claims 2024 Men’s Gymnastics Championship

Wolverines win fourth straight Big Ten Championship

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Michigan men’s gymnastics team earned the 2024 Big Ten Championship Friday night at State Farm Center in Champaign, Ill. The Wolverines claimed their 21st title overall and fourth straight.

Michigan tallied 418.100 points to win the championship, while second-place Illinois earned 413.750 points and third-place Nebraska notched 407.350. Ohio State finished in fourth place with 406.550 points, followed by Penn State in fifth with 404.050 points.

Michigan’s Fred Richard earned the Big Ten all-around title on Friday with 83.900 points, marking the fifth consecutive year a Wolverine won the all-around championship and second-straight for Richard. Nebraska’s Taylor Christopulos placed second with 83.100 points and Josh Karnes of Penn State finished in third with 83.000 points.

The final session of the 2024 Big Ten Men’s Gymnastics Championships will begin at 8 p.m. ET Saturday, and will include the individual event finals. Saturday’s competition will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network and is also available on the FOX Sports app.
