Penn State, Illinois Claim Men’s Gymnastics Weekly Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Gymnasts of the Week for the week ending February 25, 2024.

Gymnast of the Week

Josh Karnes, Penn State

Jr. – Erie, Pa. – Erie – Major: Media Studies

• Totaled an 82.8500 in the All-Around in Sunday’s finals of the Winter Cup to finish second

• Posted scores of 14.450 and 14.200 in the floor exercise, the third and fourth highest scores of the weekend in the event.

• Garners his fourth Gymnast of the Week award and second of the season

• Last Penn State Gymnast of the Week: Paul Juda (Feb. 12, 2024)

Freshman and Even Specialist of the Week

Brandon Dang, Illinois

San Jose, Calif. – Evergreen Valley – Major: Electrical Engineering

• Posted a 14.8500 in the pommel horse in Sunday’s finals of the Winter Cup, the event’s highest pommel horse score

• Earns his fourth Freshman of the Week award and second Event Specialist of the Week honor
