Illinois Sweeps Men’s Gymnastics Weekly Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Gymnasts of the Week for the week ending Jan. 28, 2024.

Gymnast of the Week

Logan Myers, Illinois

Sr. – Morrison, Colo. – Wheat Ridge – Major: Consumer Electronics and Finance

• Posted scores of 13.750 in the still rings and 13.700 in the high bar to lead No. 5 Illinois to a win over then-No. 1 Oklahoma on Saturday

• Garners his first Gymnast of the Week award

• Last Illinois Gymnast of the Week: Hamish Carter (February 27, 2023)

Freshman of the Week

Brandon Dang, Illinois

San Jose, Calif. – Evergreen Valley – Major: Electrical Engineering

• Tied for third in the pommel horse (13.850) in the Illini’s victory over Oklahoma

• Earns his second consecutive Freshman of the Week award

• Last Illinois Freshman of the Week: Brandon Dang (Jan. 22, 2024)

Event Specialist of the Week

Will Hauke, Illinois

Sr. – Indianapolis, Ind. – North Central – Major: Recreation, Sports and Tourism

• Scored his second parallel bars win over the season with a 14.100, as Illinois downed top-ranked Oklahoma

• Earns his first Event Specialist of the Week award
