ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Three Stars of the Week for ice hockey games played January 30-31, 2026.
First Star
Charlie Stramel, Michigan State
Sr. – F – Rosemount, Minn. – Wisconsin (NCAA)
2023 NHL Draft: 1st Rd, 21st overall, Minnesota Wild
- Recorded five points (three goals, two assists) as No. 2/2 Michigan State swept No. 5/5 Penn State in University Park, Pa.
- Logged a hat trick in Saturday’s 5-4 win, netting the overtime game-winner in front of 74,575 spectators outdoors at Beaver Stadium
- Finished the weekend with 13 shots on goal, 29 faceoff wins and four blocked shots
- Earns his sixth career Star honor (2-First Stars, 1-Second Star, 3-Third Stars) and third of the season
- Last Spartan named Big Ten First Star: Charlie Stramel (Dec. 30, 2025)
Second Star
Erik Påhlsson, Minnesota

2024 NHL Draft: 7th Rd, 213th overall, Nashville Predators
- Produced five points (three goals, two assists) to lead Minnesota to a weekend sweep of No. 8/7 Wisconsin
- Registered back-to-back multiple-point games, scoring twice in Saturday’s 8-4 win
- Netted the game-winning goal in a 4-1 victory to open the series
- The first Gopher to wear a No. 72 jersey, secures his first Big Ten weekly accolade
- Last Minnesota player to receive a Star Award: Brodie Ziemer (First Star, Dec. 9, 2025)
Third Star
T.J. Hughes, Michigan
Sr. – F – Hamilton, Ontario – Brooks (AJHL)
- Amassed four points (two goals, two assists) in Michigan’s two wins at Ohio State, which resulted in the Wolverines’ first 4-0 season sweep of the Buckeyes since 1995
- Buried two goals, including the game-winner, for top-ranked Michigan in a 6-3 win on Friday
- Distributed the primary assist on the overtime winner Saturday, reaching 100 assists for his career
- Garners his fourth career Big Ten weekly award (1-First Star, 2-Second Stars, 1-Third Star) and second of the season
- Last time Hughes received a Star certificate: Nov. 25, 2025 (First Star)
