Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State Advance to Big Ten Semifinals
Big Ten Hockey Tournament Semifinals Slated for Saturday

ROSEMONT, lll. — No. 2 seed Michigan, No. 3 seed Penn State and No. 5 seed Ohio State won single-elimination quarterfinal games as the Big Ten Hockey Tournament opened at three campus sites Wednesday evening. No. 1 seed Michigan State received a quarterfinals bye after winning the Big Ten regular season championship.
All three winning teams scored six-or-more goals. Michigan defeated Notre Dame, 6-1, in Ann Arbor, Mich., Penn State downed Minnesota, 6-2 in University Park, Pa., and Ohio State knocked off Wisconsin, 7-1, in Madison, Wis.
Tournament semifinals will be held Saturday on campus sites of higher-seeded teams. Both games will air live on the Big Ten Network.

The winners of the single-elimination semifinal games will meet in the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game on Saturday, March 21, at the highest remaining seed. The game will be broadcast on BTN.
