LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Wisconsin has advanced to the NCAA Championship Game after defeating No. 1 seed North Dakota, 2-1, Thursday at the NCAA Semifinals in T-Mobile Arena. Wisconsin, which returns to the finals for the first time since 2010, will take on Denver of the NCHC at 5:30 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN.

Wisconsin (24-12-2) scored twice in the first period on goals from Simon Tassy and Ryan Botterill and received outstanding goaltending from freshman Daniel Hauser, who stopped several point-blank shots. The Badgers become the fourth Big Ten team to reach the championship game and will look for their seventh title in program history.

Denver downed Michigan, 4-3, in double overtime in the second semifinal. Top-ranked Michigan (31-8-1) received goals from Josh Eernisse, TJ Hughes, and Jayden Perron as the Wolverines finished with a 52-26 shot advantage. Denver freshman goaltender Johnny Hicks made 49 saves on the night.
