Denver prevails, 2-1, in NCAA Final

LAS VEGAS – Wisconsin’s run in the NCAA Hockey Tournament came to an end with a 2-1 loss to Denver in the NCAA Championship Game, played before a sellout crowd of 17,849 at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday.
Wisconsin (24-13-2), which had defeated a pair of No. 1 seeds to make the final, held a 1-0 lead after two periods before Denver scored twice in the third period to pull out the win. Vasily Zelenov scored for the Badgers and was named to the Frozen Four All-Tournament Team along with teammate defenseman Ben Dexheimer.
Wisconsin finished with a 30-15 advantage in shots as it made its ninth appearance all-time in the championship game.
