Minnesota Secures Share of Big Ten Hockey Championship
Gophers Claim Seventh Big Ten Regular Season Title

ROSEMONT, lll. — Minnesota downed Penn State, 5-3, on Saturday in the last game on the conference schedule to earn a share of the Big Ten Hockey Championship. It is the seventh title in conference history for Minnesota and the program’s third championship in four seasons.
Minnesota (24-8-4, 15-6-3 Big Ten) and Michigan State (24-6-4, 15-5-4 Big Ten) finished as the first co-champions in conference history with 50 points. Based on a tiebreaker, Minnesota will be the No. 2 seed for the Big Ten Tournament, which begins next week. The Gophers will host a best-of-three quarterfinals series against No. 7 seed Notre Dame, March 7-9, at 3M Arena at Mariucci.
