Michigan State Clinches Share of Big Ten Hockey Championship
Spartans Claim Second Big Ten Regular Season Title

ROSEMONT, lll. — A year to the day Michigan State won its first Big Ten Hockey Championship, it added another, posting a 5-2 win over Notre Dame Saturday in the season finale to secure a share of the regular season title.
Michigan State (24-6-4, 15-5-4 Big Ten) and Minnesota (24-8-4, 15-6-3 Big Ten) finished as the first co-champions in conference history with 50 points. Based on a tiebreaker, Michigan State earned the top seed and a quarterfinals bye for the Big Ten Tournament, which begins March 7. The Spartans will host a semifinal game on Saturday, March 15, in East Lansing, Mich.
