Michigan Falls in Frozen Four Semifinals

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — For the first time all season, Michigan was kept off the scoreboard in suffering a 4-0 loss to Boston College in the NCAA Semifinals Thursday evening at the Xcel Energy Center. The No. 10/4-ranked Wolverines finish their campaign with a 23-15-3 record.
Top-ranked Boston College (34-5-1) received a pair of goals from freshman center Will Smith and scored goals 49 seconds apart in the middle period to run its winning streak to 15 games.
Michigan finished with a 32-22 edge in shots, but were held scoreless on the power play (0-4). Mark Estapa (six shots) and Gavin Brindley (five shots) led the Wolverines offensively.
BC will take on Denver in the NCAA Championship Game, slated for 6 p.m. ET (ESPN2) on Saturday.
