Penn State and USC Claim Weekly Men’s Indoor Track and Field Accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb 5-12, 2025.  

Track Athletes of the Week

• Won both the 200-meter and 400-meter at the Collegiate Classic
• His 200-meter time was a PR, NCAA-leading and world-leading time of 20.34
• His 400-meter time was also a PR of 45.45 which ranks third on USC’s all-time indoor list, third on the NCAA list and fifth on the world indoor list
• Blockburger also anchored USC’s winning 4x400m relay which ran 3:03.57, fourth on USC’s all-time indoor list and third among college teams this season
• Earns his and USC’s first ever Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award 

Field Athlete of the Week 
JC Stevenson, USC 
Junior – Multi-event –Temecula, Calif. – Major: Business 

• Won the long jump at the Collegiate Classic with a mark of 8.17m (26-9.75)
• His mark is a personal record and NCAA-leading jump Stevenson moved into third on USC’s all-time indoor long jump list
• He also ranks tied for sixth on the world indoor list
• This marks USC and Stevenson’s first Indoor Field Athlete of the Week Award 

Freshman of the Week 
Ajani Dwyer, Penn State 
Freshman – Sprints – Sewell, N.J. – Major: Accounting 

• Recorded the fifth sub-6.6 60-meter performance of his sensational freshman season on Saturday at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge
• Dwyer is the No. 1 freshman in the nation in the 60-meter dash
• At this moment, he is likely to compete in the Big Ten Championships, NCAA Indoor Championships, and the USATF Indoor Track & Field Championships as a freshman
• Dwyer’s third Indoor Freshman of the Week Award. Last: Jan. 29, 2025
