Big Ten Announces Men’s Indoor Track & Field Postseason Awards
Ducks’ Erickson, Hawkeyes’ Vogelsang, Huskers’ Wilson earn honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the 2025 Big Ten Men’s Indoor Track and Field postseason individual award recipients on Wednesday, as selected by the conference’s head coaches.
Oregon’s Matthew Erickson was named Men’s Track Athlete of the Year, while Nebraska’s Tyus Wilson was voted for Field Athlete of the Year and Iowa’s Abraham Vogelsang was named Freshman of the Year.
Erickson claimed an individual championship and First-Team All-America honors in the 800 meter run at the 2025 NCAA Division l Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 1:46.43. He earned All-Big Ten First Team earlier this month after earning first place at the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Wilson also took home the high jump individual championship at the NCAAs with a personal-best and facility record mark of 2.28m (7-5 ¾). The four-time First-Team All-American earned Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships and All-Big Ten First Team earlier this month after securing a mark of 2.25m (7-4 ½) to earn first place in the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Vogelsang, the only freshman to win Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week this season, earned First-Team All-America honors after finishing sixth in heptathlon at the NCAAs with 5,993 points.
Earlier this month, the Big Ten announced the award recipients for Track Athlete of the Championships, Field Athlete of the Championships and Coach of the Year, as well as the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honorees.
