ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of December 11-18, 2024.
Track Athlete of the Week
Cameron Miller, Purdue
Grad Student – Sprints – Dallas, Texas – Major: Communication and Leadership
Ran a 32.43 300m to win the Blue Demon Holiday Invitational
- His 300m time is the fastest in the Big Ten and sixth fastest in the NCAA
- Secures his second Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. Last: (Jan. 24, 2024)
Field Athlete of the Week
Sean Smith, Iowa Junior – Throws – Webster, N.Y. – Major: Marketing
Posted a 22.49m mark at the Jimmy Grant Invite to earn first place
- His 22.49m is the third best weight throw in the country this season and an Iowa school record
Secures his second Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. Last: (Dec. 13, 2023)
Freshman of the Week
Dyson Wicker, Nebraska

In his debut, earned first place at the Husker Holiday Open
- Cleared 5.92m (17-4.25) which is second best among the Big Ten this season
