Oregon wins Big Ten Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship

Indianapolis, IND. – The Oregon Ducks won the Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. This is head coach Jerry Schumacher’s first men’s indoor championship with the Ducks  

USC was this year’s runner-up with 99.5 points, while Wisconsin finished third with 83 points. Washington (67 points) and Iowa (62 points) rounded out the top five.  

The Ducks took home two individual Big Ten titles, as Connor Burns won the 5,000-meter (13:39.25) and Matthew Erikson claimed the 800-meter (1:46.86).  

The Big Ten Track Athlete of the Championships, Field Athlete of the Championships, Coach of the Year and Sportsmanship Award honorees will be announced on Wednesday (March 5). The Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year, Field Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year will be announced following the NCAA Indoor Championships.
