Nebraska, Penn State, and USC Take Home Weekly Men’s Indoor Track and Field Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb 19-26, 2025.  

Track Athletes of the Week  
Johnny Brackins Jr., USC 
Senior – Hurdles – Kansas City, MO – Major: Psychology 

• Placed third in the men’s 60m hurdles at the USATF Indoor Championships with a time of 7.43
• His time is a PR, USC-record, Big Ten-record and NCAA-leading time

• In the qualifier Brackins Jr. also had a time of 7.44

• Both times made Brackins Jr. the fourth-leading all-time collegiate performer in 60m hurdles
• Brackins Jr.’s third Indoor Track Athlete of the week award. Last: Feb. 19, 2025 

Field Athlete of the Week 
Henry Zimmerman 
Senior– Throws – New Albany, Ohio – Major: TBD 

• Threw a season’s best 22.84m (74-11 ¼) to win the men’s weight throw title at the Nebraska Tune-Up
• His throw currently sits third in Big Ten marks this season
• Last Nebraska Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Micaylon Moore (Feb 21, 2024) 

Freshman of the Week 
Ajani Dwyer, Penn State 
Freshman – Sprints – Sewell, N.J. – Major: Accounting 

• Finished sixth in the U.S. in the 60m dash at the USATF Indoor Championships
• His 6.54 mark tied the school record in the event set last year by former Nittany Lion All-American Cheickna Traore
• Heading into the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships, Dwyer ranks top ten this season in both the 60 and 200-meter dash events
• Dwyer’s fourth Freshman of the Week Award. Last: Feb. 12, 2025
