Indiana and Wisconsin Earn Men’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Swimmer of the Week  
Owen McDonald, Indiana 
Jr. – Alpharette, Ga. – Rivers Academy – Major: Fitness & Wellness 

• Swept individual events in Indiana’s 163-137 victory over No. 4 Florida 

• Swept backstroke events, posting NCAA B cuts in both races 

• Touched first in the 100 backstroke in a time of 46.99. Also won the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:43.48 

• Captured first in the 200 IM with a time of 1:46.20 

• Last Indiana Swimmer of the Week: Owen McDonald (Nov. 27, 2024) 

Diver of the Week 
Carson Tyler, Indiana 
Sr. – Moultrie, Ga. – Colquitt County – Major: Political Science 

• Finished top two in both diving events as the Hoosiers swept the diving events in a 163-137 victory over No. 4 Florida 

• Won the 1-meter springboard with a score of 425.33 in a 1-2 finish with teammate Quinn Henniger. Tyler scored 65 points or better on each 1-meter attempt 

• Finished second to Henninger on 3-meter with a 385.43  

• Last Indiana Diver of the Week: Maxwell Weinrich (Feb. 7, 2024) 

Freshman of the Week  
Yoav Romano, Wisconsin 
Shoham, Israel – hof HaSharon – Major: Psychology 

• Won all three of his events at UC San Diego over the weekend, helping the Badgers win all 15 events  

• Finished first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:37.70 and won the 500 freestyle with a 4:23.90, nearly eight seconds faster than the second-place finisher 

• Swam a 44.96 split in Wisconsin's winning 400 freestyle relay  

• Earns his first freshman of the week honor
