Maryland, Northwestern Collect Weekly Men’s Soccer Honors

Terrapins’ Ndrenika, Kelp and Wildcats’ Ponce De Leon, O’Reilly garner weekly accolades

Offensive Player of the Week 
Albi Ndrenika, Maryland
Sr. – M – Olney, Md. – Baltimore Armour

  • Scored the lone goal in Maryland’s 1-0 win over Washington
  • Ndrenika’s 83rd minute marker kept the Terps undefeated and moved them into first place in the Big Ten standings
  • Collects his first Offensive Player of the Week award
  • Last Maryland Offensive Player of the Week: Leon Koehl (Oct. 14, 2025)


Defensive Player of the Week  
Lasse Kelp, Maryland
Sr. – D – Bonn, Germany – SC Fortuna Koln

  • Anchored Maryland’s defensive effort in its 1-0 win over Washington
  • The Terps’ defense held the Huskies to just two shots on target
  • Earns his first Defensive Player of the Week award
  • Last Maryland Defensive Player of the Week: Tristen Rose (Oct. 21, 2025)


Goalkeeper of the Week  
Rafael Ponce de Leon, Northwestern
Sr. – Pennington, N.J. – Pennington School

  • Notched six saves in Northwestern’s 2-0 victory over Indiana
  • Assisted Aaron O‘Reilly’s goal, becoming the first Wildcat netminder to be credited with an assist since Miha Miskovic in 2019
  • Garners first Goalkeeper of the Week award

 

Freshman of the Week  
Aaron O’Reilly, Northwestern
F – Naperville, Ill. – Naperville Central

  • Scored an insurance goal, as the Wildcats topped Indiana
  • 65th minute goal gave O’Reilly a tie for the team lead with four
  • Earns his second Freshman of the Week award
  • Last Northwestern Freshman of the Week: Andrew Johnson (Oct. 14, 2025)
